New Yorker

New Yorker
makes 1 drink

2 oz rye whiskey
1 oz fresh lemon juice
3/4 oz simple syrup
1 – 2 oz club soda
1 lemon wheel, for garnish
3/4 oz dry red wine (Malbec or Syrah)

Pour the whiskey, lemon juice, and simple syrup into a shaker with ice and shake briefly. Strain into an ice-filled glass and top off with the club soda, leaving room at the top. Garnish with the lemon wheel and gently float the red wine on top.
